Itally, a new business to start over after the crisis

We could no longer take Made in Italy to potential new customers, so we decided to bring new customers to Made in Italy.

Lockdown, quarantine, phase 1. Whatever you call it, the fact remains that the Covid-19 emergency has overturned everyone’s life. At Itally, we have been profoundly hit by the sudden changes of these tricky times and we have had to abruptly block our plan to take Made in Italy fashion around the world.

Our enthusiasm and wish to continue to support the Italian spirit, however, has never failed. Indeed, now more than ever, we are convinced that projects like Itally are essential to continue promoting the work of many artisans, creatives and small and medium-sized enterprises.

The words of Giorgio Armani, who recently declared that “this crisis is also an opportunity to restore value to authenticity”, were a real source of inspiration for us. Just like him, we are convinced that it is not a question of simply finding a way out but of taking “a road that will finally bring value back to our work and that will make final customers perceive its true importance and value”.

So, we put our Fashion Truck in the garage and gave free rein to our imagination. Our aim was to reinvent Itally’s form and find new ways to facilitate the discovery of Italian know-how throughout the world, even though it was no longer physically possible to travel to our planned destinations.

We could no longer take Made in Italy to potential new customers, so we decided to bring new customers to Made in Italy. To do so, we built on the idea that while closed in our homes during the quarantine, each of us would have a unique way of continuing our travels: the internet.

Thus the vehicle we had initially conceived as a physical showcase, the fashion truck, has been transformed into a digital showcase, where all those Made in Italy businesses that have not given in to difficulties and have been able to refigure themselves can find space and visibility.

Itally is now an e-commerce business, an online shop designed to promote and sell the products of all creatives, artisans and enterprises in the world of Italian fashion that are looking for new opportunities to face the future.

We have never stopped believing in the excellence of Italian work and craftsmanship and we will continue to support and recount this reality because we are certain that there are many professionals who are currently using their hands, experience, ideas and passion to continue to keep the value of Made in Italy fashion high.
