When he talks about the past and tells of the happiness he felt every time his father brought home wood offcuts from the factory, the face of Giorgio Bastianelli, alias Gio Bastian, lights up: “I was a little boy” – he says – “but for me they were sculptures. I played with them, I received pleasure from them”.
Perhaps, it is exactly in his childhood, when he used to express his creativity playing with wood shavings, bark and small chunks of wood, that we can find the origin of Gio Bastian project: using wood to create original, functional and, above all, beautiful bags.
